EVENT AREA & START
STHLM Urban Trail has two event areas. The start will take place on the beautiful avenue, Djurgårdsvägen on Djurgården. The finish is on Blasieholmskajen with a view of the Royal Palace. We recommend that you travel to the start area by public transport.
You will all warm up together, with our partner SATS, in the start area before the first start group.
This is a run without timekeeping where the focus is on having fun! So that the runners can spread out along the course, participants are divided into start groups. It is important that you start in your designated group! The run will start from a start enclosure with a narrow funnel which means that participants will set off one after another. This will avoid bottlenecks in the buildings along the course and avoid queues. The first start will be at 08:10 and the start groups will set off at 20 minute intervals.
8.10 Start group 1, start number 1-800
8.30 Start group 2, start number 1001-1800
8.50 Start group 3, start number 2001-2600
9.10 Start group 4, start number 3001-3600
Until now, we have kept the course secret and we are now presenting a premiere: for the first time in Stockholm’s history, the avenue along Djurgårdsvägen will be used for the start of a running event! We are incredibly proud to be using this beautiful location. After the avenue, the course turns in to the Skånska Gruvan, the entrance to Skansen open-air museum, and you will climb up quite a steep slope. After Skansen you will pass the start area from the other side of Djurgårdsvägen och continue over Djurgårds Bridge and onto the pleasant promenade on Strandvägen. Then after running in and out of all the buildings you will finish on Blasieholms quayside.
The total distance is approximately 10km.
There are a number a refreshment stations along the course. Water will also be provided in the start and finish areas, before the start of the run and after you cross the finish line.
Changing areas, toilets, clothing drop-off and safety deposit
We recommend that you arrive dressed ready to run. There are no changing facilities or showers at the venue.
There are toilets in the start and finish area.
The clothing drop-off service is limited. Clothing can be left before the start in a specially designated place in the start area on Djurgårdsvägen. Since the start and finish are in two separate places, your clothing will gradually be transported to the finish area after the start. This means that it can take a while before it arrives and we ask you make allowance for this. Everything will be transported to the finish area and no clothes or bags can be picked up again from the start area. You are not allowed to run with a backpack.
Leave your wallet, keys, etc at the safety deposit at the start area. Bags and bulky objects must be handed to the clothing drop-off. You can collect your valuables at the finish area after the race by showing your bib number.
When you cross the finish line you will receive a medal. Then you’ll get a Chiquita banana, a Maxim energy bar and a health drink from Noa.
If you’ve not already done so, you can order a breakfast pack from City Gross – either when you enter or in the finish area. We’re looking forward to a great atmosphere at the finish on Blasieholm quayside – breakfast with one of the most beautiful views in Stockholm.
There is a medical service at the start area on Djurgårdsvägen and at the finish line. There will also be medical officials on motorbikes and an ambulance. Medical officials have the right to take injured or exhausted runners off the course.
